Mississippi Monkey Business
A bunch of cops in the Mississippi Delta were arrested for running drugs on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Two sheriffs were arrested.
Per WAPT,[1]
“Among the 20 people indicted in the conspiracy include Brandon Addison, who was employed with the Hollandale Police Department and the Humphreys County Sheriff's Office; Javery Howard, who was with the Metcalf Police Department and the Hollandale Police Department; Milton Gaston, who is the Washington County sheriff; Truron Grayson, who worked for the Humphreys County Sheriff's Office; Bruce Williams, who is the Humphreys County sheriff; Sean Williams, who worked for the Yazoo City Police Department; Dexture Franklin, who worked for the Washington County Sheriff's Office and Wendell Johnson, who worked for the Bolivar County Sheriff's Office.”
Limiting competition for profit is the goal of a cartel. In the USA, drug cartels are heavily involved in politics because their profits depend on politicians using taxes and regulations to channel consumers into buying their products- often times killing the competition.[2][3]
“See, if you look at the drug war from a purely economic point of view, the role of the government is to protect the drug cartel. That's literally true [...] It's very hard for a small person to go into the drug importing business because our interdiction efforts essentially make it enormously costly. So, the only people who can survive in that business are these large Medellin cartel kind of people who have enough money so they can have fleets of airplanes, so they can have sophisticated methods, and so on.” -Milton Friedman, 1991 interview with Randy Paige on America’s Drug Forum.
As another example of corrupt government, Chokwe Lumumba was the mayor of Jackson, Mississippi until he lost his bid for re-election after being indicted for various crimes this year. Jackson is known for its drug crime.
Per Just Claas of WAPT,[4]
“Lumumba is charged with conspiracy, federal program bribery, use of an interstate facility in aid of racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering.”
The corruption is federal too. Whether it was Operation Warp Speed or bombing boats allegedly running drugs off the coast of Venezuela, Trump sure has killed the competition for the drug cartel Pfizer.[5]
Separately, a bunch of monkeys that were supposedly infected with covid and herpes for research purposes escaped from an overturned truck on the interstate in Mississippi.
Per WLBT staff,[6]
“HEIDELBERG, Miss. (WLBT) - One monkey is still missing after a truck carrying the animals from the Tulane National Biomedical Research Center in New Orleans overturned on Interstate 59 in Heidelberg, Mississippi last week.
In all, 21 monkeys were on the truck.
Five were killed at the scene, and three escaped. Thirteen remained in the truck and were taken to their original destination, the Associated Press reports.
One of the escaped monkeys was shot and killed by a woman in Jasper County, who said the monkey was seen running in her yard Sunday morning.”
Mississippi has plenty of monkey business.
